New Spell QuestersFirst, make sure you read about elemental spells and the corresponding quests . Completing these quests will reward you with the specific type of Elemental tome. Once you have a tome, you can hunt the specific type of Elemental mage to obtain elemental spellbooks for different types of spells. Make sure you visit the to find all spawn locations for quick farming! Further note that certain player guilds or the Magi of Sosaria guild, have captured these elemental magi (personal spawners) that you can farm once you join the guild. The Ares champion spawn is elemental magus themed! Also, rift guardians can reward you with elemental spells of every type! In addition, a very important quest involves the spell maker (see ), which allows you to create your own spells with properties that fit your unique playing style! Head to Training Area 3 (third floor) and speak to the npc to get started.

Spell MakerThe reward for the spellmaker quest in TR3, is a craftable spellbook, that is highly amenable to changes, and will allow you to build a unique playing style to your liking. You are only limited by your imagination! Single click the spellbook and choose 'Properties' to see what kind of effects you have in this tome, or 'Rename Book' to give the spellbook a unique name. If you have crafted a spell in your spellbook, you can cast it by double clicking the spellbook. The properties brings up the following gump. You need to be near a 'Codex of Spell Making Knowledge' in order to start creating your spell.
First choose the type of spell you wish to create: Beneficial, Harmful, or Summoning. Click the button to cycle through options and note that available spells change as you change the spell type.
Second choose the Target Type of spell you wish to create: Single Target Self, Single Target Selected, Area Effect Target Self, or Area Effect Target Ground.
As you keep adding spell effects, or increase the radius, duration and magnitude, the requirements for the casting the spell increase accordingly, and these include both mana requirements, as well as skill requirements. Certain professions can reduce these requirements!

Elemental SpellsWe are pleased to bring you yet another unique and exclusive system of spells, called Elemental spells. These are themed type spells, including Earth, Ether, Ice, Fire and Plague type of spells that use a specific type of damage to obliterate your foes. In order to obtain and level up specific spells within an Elemental tome, you need to slay elemental magi of the corresponding type. Your luck score is critical when it comes to dropping an elemental tome, with higher spell cicles being extremely rare. These magi can also drop elemental spell scrolls, as well as wands! Note that if a magus drops a spellbook it will automatically be collected in your elemental tome if there is room for the spell to level up. Max level for any elemental spell is 5k. At higher levels of an elemental spells, there is a chance for a specific elemental effect to be applied, that does extra elementalist damage to the unfortunate victim. If the spell level is 5k the chance is 100%! There are certain common properties in the gumps you see below. The gold arrow will drop the elemental spellbook in your backpack. The white square will display information about the specific spell. Do not forget about important commands involving the new spells.
